Pattern Meaning: Kudus City which is known as the kretek cigarette industry. Even though it is famous for its tobacco products, not many people know that it has a fairly old batik tradition. Since the Dutch colonial era, Kudus batik has been famous. The term kretek itself emerged from the crackling produced by the mixture of tobacco and cloves that are in cigarettes when lit with fire. Tobacco and cloves are also the main raw materials for making cigarettes.
