Woven from the bark of the bemban tree that grows in humid/watery areas by the Dayak Iban tribe. It is usually made into mats or food mats. Then they were trained by the Rakuji Team to make bags. All parts such as buttons and straps are made from the webbing.

Rumah Rakuji was established in 2002 by its founder Myra Widiono. Myra got her first degree as an Architect from ITB and second degree in the Building Management Study from University College London. She started to have passion in art product from her relation to group of friends with the same interest. Rumah Rakuji was initially intended to accommodate sharing and discussions among this group, but soon it became a real work horse for the expanded interest of this group.
