Galeri Kain Besurek Swarnabumei, founded in 2017 in Bengkulu, Sumatra, Indonesia, specializes in a unique Bengkulu batik called Besurek. Inspired by Arabic calligraphy, ‘Besurek’ has no literal meaning and is often paired with local patterns such as the endangered Rafflesia Arnoldi flower. Our products, made by skilled artisans, showcase exclusive designs, including the use of natural indigo dyes. The name Swarnabumei, derived from "suvarnabhumi," meaning "Land of Gold," reflects Bengkulu's rich natural heritage.
