Tenun D'Utan

I first started weaving, in Tarakan City in 2006. At first I wove only for my own use with motifs from the area where I was born (Flores, Maumere). However, as time went by, the local government provided assistance for weaving with typical Tarakan motifs. In 2010, Mrs. Solikhin and I went to Surabaya to conduct batik training by coloring using Napthol. And the method of dyeing weaving is also the same as batik at that time. After that, I started starting my career and received assistance from Dekranasda in the form of various manual weaving tools, various dyes and good materials. Then I started making typical Tarakan motifs so many people liked them.
